July 21, 2025, Hangzhou, Zhejiang — The General Secretary of the Gear and Electric Drive Subcommittee of the China Machinery General Parts Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Subcommittee"), Mr. Wang Wei, and his delegation visited the Subcommittee’s President Unit, Zhejiang Double Ring Transmission Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Double Ring Transmission"). They held discussions with President Mr. Wu Changhong and the core team of the company. Mr. Wang Wei provided a comprehensive report on the Subcommittee’s progress in the first half of 2025 and the key plans for the second half of the year. President Mr. Wu Changhong, combining industry realities with corporate practices, emphasized the key direction of the gear industry’s transformation towards "mechatronic control integration," injecting new momentum for the industry’s high-quality development.
Mr. Wang Wei reported in detail on the Subcommittee’s work in the first half of 2025 across four major areas: organizing industry activities, drafting the 14th Five-Year Plan, conducting industry research and statistics, and promoting standardization. He stated that in the second half of the year, the Subcommittee will focus on finalizing the 14th Five-Year Plan, organizing the industry conference, and conducting statistical research, further enhancing the Subcommittee’s role as a bridge and link.
President Mr. Wu Changhong fully acknowledged the Subcommittee’s work in the first half of the year, believing that its efforts have provided strong support for the industry’s development. Drawing on Double Ring Transmission’s own transformation experience, President Wu analyzed the current market situation in the gear industry: The industry is currently facing a structural contradiction of "overcapacity," with intensified "price wars" between companies and severe "internal competition" within the industry. To overcome this predicament, a shift in development thinking is necessary — upgrading from a "single component supplier" to a "component solution provider," ultimately achieving "mechatronic (electromechanical control) integration."
All participants agreed that mechatronic control integration is the future direction for the gear industry: On one hand, integrated products can significantly enhance technological added value; on the other hand, integration can eliminate outdated, low-end capacity, driving the industry towards "high-end manufacturing" while expanding the overall market capacity.
Mr. Huang Wei, Director of the Office of Double Ring Transmission, and Mr. Guan Hongjie, Assistant Secretary General of the Subcommittee, participated in the discussion throughout. This exchange not only strengthened the collaborative linkage between the Subcommittee’s Secretariat and the President Unit but also clarified the core path for the industry’s transformation and upgrade — using "integration" as the focal point to drive the gear industry’s shift from "scale expansion" to "value enhancement."
